Batanes Resort - A Government-operated that offers a good panoramic view of the South China Sea, a few minutes drive from Basco downtown. Has 6 cottages with 12 rooms.







Batanes Seaside Lodge and Restaurant - Located on the outskirts of Basco proper viewing the Basco Port and  Lighthouse. It is popular with anglers, rooms are basic, clean with air conditioning, TV, fridge and water heater.









Brandon's Lodging - Located on the NorthEast viewing Basco City proper. Walking distance from the airport and near to the heart of Basco.

How to GO THERE:

The island of Batanes is accessible through a 1 hour and 10  minute flight from Manila through SKYJET (www.skyjetair.com), the only airline that currently serves the Manila-Basco route through its 96-seater plane.

Things You MUST know when travelling to BATANES!


Touring the island! - Transportation in Batanes is not that easy, Jeepneys from Basco to other municipalities are available only from 5am to 9pm. Options are private vehicles such as Van, Motorcycles, Bicycles may be rented to tour the places around Batan, Sabtang and Itbayat. For Tour Guides, you may contact Travel Agencies or Tour Operators in Basco who has completed a Tour Guiding Seminar and/or duly licenced/accredited by DOT/Provincial Government Unit.

The island of Batanes is the only Province in the country that was declared in its entirety as a Protected Landscape and Seascape Area by the RA 8991 in 2000, Presidential Proclamation No. 335 Series of 1994 and RA 7586, NIPAS ACT of 1992.

Bring extra Cash! In Basco, there is a Landbank ATM that could serve your need for cash. Credit cards are not acceptable for payments, you are expected to pay in cash all the time. You can also convert your dollars into pesos in any of the three local banks here in Basco.

The Weather: All year round, touring the island of Batanes is perfect for the reason the island has four season similar to Taiwan.  From December to February, it is winter season.  March to May, it is spring season.  June to August, it is summer season and from September to November, it is fall season.  From time to time, weather changes.  It usually shift from sunny day to rainy day or from hot to cold weather.  Occasional rain shower occur during any season.  But still tourist enjoy the island.


Say "Uncle" or "Antie" as a way of greetings! There is no specific greetings for any specific time of the day. You can say "Hello" or "Kapian ka pan Dios" is also accepted as greetings any time of the day, Others, is just a simple amazing SMILE will do.


Do Island Hopping! - When travelling to Sabtang or Itbayat, expect the unexpected! Thats being stranded on the island, thus you are obliged to bring your personal medicines and extra things for your comfort while in the island.Motorized Boats leave San Vicente or Radiwan Port (for Sabtang trip) as early as 6am and Basco port (for Itbayat Trip). Fare to Sabtang is P75/head/way and P450/head/way for Itbayat. Going to this island is the best to experience the way of Ivatan Living.
